Cativos em números
Desde 1995, os órgãos fiscalizadores já registraram mais de 43 mil trabalhadores em condições de escravidão ou ‘análogas’. A Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT) estima que, no mundo, existam cerca de 20 milhões de pessoas nessas condições. Dos libertados entre 2003 e 2009, no Brasil, 60% eram analfabetos. O artigo 149 do Código Penal prevê de dois a oito anos de cadeia para os envolvidos na contratação de mão de obra escrava. Configura-se crime em quatro situações: cerceamento da liberdade de se desligar do serviço, servidão por dívida, condições degradantes de trabalho e jornada exaustiva.

Como medida preventiva para a situação acima descrita, O MPT (Ministério Público do Trabalho) publicou uma cartilha especial para esclarecer a questão intitulada:

Utilizando o tema da cartilha acima citado, desenvolva um texto dissertativo sobre ele.
