A 5ª abre o fechamento, 'In summary', que é a 3. A sequência é 5–4–1–2–3. B, C, D e E colocam frases em lacunas incompatíveis. Por exemplo, 'In summary' (3) só pode ficar na última lacuna, e a frase 5 só faz sentido antes de 'these different environments'. Referência: Coesão textual e sequenciação de ideias. Resolução comentada do VaiConcursos. A) Errada: o superlativo de 'smart' (monossílabo) é 'the smartest'. B) Errada: 'bad' tem superlativo irregular, 'the worst'; 'worse' é o comparativo. C) Errada: 'than yesterday's' pede comparativo, 'more demanding', e não 'most demanding'. D) Errada: 'hungry' faz o comparativo 'hungrier'; 'hungryer' não existe. Referência: Gramática da língua inglesa: comparativos e superlativos. Resolução comentada do VaiConcursos. Resolução comentada do VaiConcursos. A) Verdadeira: 'You will not carry weapons and ammunition'. D) Verdadeira: 'You will move by day and night'. Referência: Interpretação de texto (reading comprehension). Resolução comentada do VaiConcursos. Fica: 'The NCO Academy students always march very proudly on the parade ground on Independence Day.' Isso corresponde a A-5, B-4, C-2, D-1, E-3. A) coloca 'on Independence Day' antes de 'on the parade ground' em D e E invertidos. C) coloca 'very' antes de 'always'. D) coloca o lugar antes do modo. E) coloca 'proudly' antes de 'very', que deve modificá-lo. Referência: Ordem dos advérbios em inglês (manner–place–time; frequência antes do verbo). Resolução comentada do VaiConcursos. A) 'can' exige infinitivo sem 'to'. B) 'It's worth' exige gerúndio (worth staying). Resolução comentada do VaiConcursos. Gabarito disponível Análise de tempos verbais (present perfect, passive voice, simple past) no texto. I é falsa: há present perfect (have initiated, has been scheduled), passivas e past simple, não só simple past. A) falha porque I e IV são falsas. Soccer is the national sport of Brazil. The Brazilian passion for the game leads many observers to describe it as more of a religion than a sport for Brazilians. Intense and often fanatical support of the national team is a force that serves to bridge Brazil's ethnic and class divisions. Its national team is the only team that has played in all nineteen World Cup competitions, the sport's highest level of international play that are held every four years. Brazil is also the only team to win the tournament five times. Males of all classes and backgrounds play soccer. Its popularity stems partly from its limited equipment demands. The poorest of youth play in the streets because soccer requires just a ball (or even a makeshift ball) and some open space. Peladas, or pick-up games, are common occurrences, especially on Sundays. For spectators, national team games draw the attention of the entire nation. Work essentially halts while Brazilians gather to watch the game in homes, offices, bars, and other venues. Wins in international competition can lead to nationwide partying and parades; losses can lead to widespread disappointment and national debate concerning the team's performance and future.

TEXT 1
Brazil Armed Forces launch border patrol operation
Nearly 30 thousand soldiers have been engaged
The Brazilian Armed Forces HAVE INITIATED an operation named Agatha 8 in an attempt to clamp down on crimes and irregularities that take place on national borders. This year, due to the World Cup, the measure will encompass the full length of the borders, which total over 16.8 thousand km.
Approximately 30 thousand soldiers from the Brazilian Army, Navy and Air Force, WERE SELECTED to take part in the operation, which began on Saturday (May 10). In addition, agents from the Federal Police, the Federal Highway Police and the Military Police are also employed in the states covered. Other professionals ENGAGED in the action are those from such governmental agencies as the Federal Revenue Office, the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (“Abin”), and the National Civil Aviation Agency (“Anac”). Their focus is placed on the crimes most commonly committed at the national border, such as the trafficking of drugs and weapons, smuggling, environmental crimes, illegal immigration and mining.
According to the press office of the Ministry of Defense, no date HAS BEEN SCHEDULED for the end of the operation, as it depends on the outcomes of the patrols.
Operation Agatha 8 is part of a measure called Strategic Plan for Frontiers, CREATED by the federal government in 2011. Before the plan WAS INITIATED, the Brazilian government MAINTAINED contact with its ten neighbors so as to keep them informed of the employment of its military forces.

TEXTO DE APOIO I
