Resolução comentada

A opção A forma uma sequência coerente de tempos e modais.

'No one would have heard' indica uma situação hipotética no passado. 'Today it is as established' está no presente. 'Has developed' liga o passado ao presente (over the last 100 years). 'Could have been imagined' completa 'beyond what...'. 'Fields that have achieved great progress' fecha o período.

Análise das alternativas

As demais opções misturam tempos, como 'would hear' no futuro do pretérito ou 'has been developed' sem sentido passivo, e produzem frases incoerentes. Ex.: 'have been achieved' não combina com 'fields that ... great progress'.

Referência: Verb tenses e modais perfeitos.
